Shirt fits
An Ernst Alexis shirt consists of at least 21 different cut-out pieces, which are then carefully sewn together into a finished product through 55 or sometimes slightly more unique steps. From the collar and cuffs to the pocket and button placket. All our shirts are sewn from carefully selected fabrics, with dense stitching and strong threads, ensuring they always last a long time. Since a model needs to fit different body shapes, it's important that each new shirt is developed with precision for the best fit. Here you'll find all our measurement charts for our shirts collected in a PDF, easy to download and send to customers so they can get the best fit for their shirt.
Slim Fit
A nicely cut shirt in a tighter cut that gives a tighter feel. The slim fit shirt is a stylish and body-hugging style for those who want a slimmer fit on a shirt. It has a slimmer sleeve and more sewn-in slim fit waist than our other fits. A modern shirt with a fit for slimmer bodies.
Contemporary Fit
A modern fit that lies between Classic Fit and Slim Fit in terms of size. A Contemporary shirt is simply best if you want a slightly tighter fit that is not as tucked in at the waist as a Slim Fit.
Classic Fit
This is the classic shirt style that suits most occasions, tastes, and people. It is basically a straight style at the sides. It suits anyone who doesn't want a shirt that is too tight-fitting. The sewn pleats at the back provide extra freedom of movement and comfort across the back. This style has a practical pocket on the left chest. In short, a versatile and comfortable shirt.
Ladies Fit with yoke
A carefully designed women's shirt with a comfortable and modern cut. With all the right cuts, this is a stylish shirt that fits most women. The model is slimmed at the waist with a figure-hugging fit and a back yoke. A stylish shirt that goes well with most outfits.
Ladies Fit without yoke
A carefully designed women's shirt with a comfortable and modern cut. With all the right cuts, this is a stylish shirt that fits most women. The model is slim-fit at the waist with a figure-hugging fit without a split back yoke, making it slightly wider across the bust. A stylish shirt that goes well with most outfits.
Ladies Casual Fit
This model is a comfortable women's shirt in a nice relaxed and slightly straighter cut. The trendy fit that is perfect with our comfortable garment washed shirts. Unlike our Ladies Fit, the Casual Fit is slightly roomier and straight at the sides. The style is carefully tailored and has a different type of collar and is without a front cut.
Fits sweaters
A knitted sweater from Ernst Alexis is the result of solid craftsmanship and carefully considered material choices such as merino wool, cotton, or blends. Each sweater is developed with great care, where construction, fit, and function work together to create a garment that lasts over time. From the collar and cuffs to the ribbed finishes and seams—every detail plays a crucial role in the overall design.
Just like our shirts, each model is designed with precision to suit different body types, with a balanced silhouette and high wearing comfort. The result is knitwear that feels as well-crafted as it is timeless – created to be worn often and last a long time. Here you will find all our size charts for our knitwear collected in a PDF, easy to download and send to customers so they can get the best fit for their sweater.

Taking measurements
To obtain accurate body measurements, it is important to measure correctly. Always use a soft measuring tape and stand relaxed, without sucking in your stomach or tensing your body. Measure directly on the body and make sure the measuring tape lies flat against the skin without cutting into it.
Take each measurement twice to ensure accuracy. Ask someone to help you to get extra accurate measurements, especially for back, chest, and shoulder measurements. Follow the sketch or instructions for each specific measurement so that you measure in the right place. Also, remember to keep the measuring tape horizontal around the body for circumference measurements and let it follow the shape of the body for length measurements.
Feel free to wear your favorite shirt when you take your measurements. For the shirt to fit properly, you need to have a certain amount of movement in the garment. We recommend that the shirt be about 5-7 cm wider around the body than your body measurements, but this is of course affected by how tight you want the shirt to fit.
Carefully taking measurements increases the chances of choosing the right size – and thus getting garments that fit and function as they should.
Instructions per measuring point:
A – Collar: Measure around the neck, just below the Adam's apple. There should be enough room for a finger inside the shirt collar so that it is not too tight.
B – Chest width: Measure the circumference at the widest point, below the armpit.
C– Waist: Measure around the waist at the narrowest point, just above the navel.
D – Hip width: Measure at the widest point across the hips, just below the hip bone.
E – Back length: Measure from the neck – the bottom of the shirt – down to where the shirt ends. Feel free to use a favorite shirt that fits well when measuring.
F – Sleeve length: Measure the sleeve length on a slightly bent arm – from the highest point of the shoulder to the wrist. You can add a few centimeters if you want a slightly longer shirt sleeve.
Care instructions
CAREFUL GARMENT CARE FOR LONGER LIFE AND BETTER-LOOKING GARMENTS
A garment from Ernst Alexis is made to last.
And like all clothes, they last even longer if cared for properly. So it's important to follow the washing instructions on each garment.
The shirts named "Non-iron" have been treated with a specific agent during the manufacturing process to make the garments extra easy to care for. The garments are hung on a hanger after washing, if the garment is still not completely smooth it will be as the body heat smoothes the garment.
Our garments should never be tumble dried. An Ernst Alexis shirt should always be dried on a hanger to look as good as possible and our shirts should always be tumble dried.
If the garment has a wash symbol with a line underneath it, it means it should be washed on a gentle cycle.
EXTRA CARE INSTRUCTIONS KNITWEAR
- Wool garments should be washed on a wool programme without spinning, otherwise hand washing is recommended.
- Cotton garments are washed on a discount washing programme, with no or only a short spin.
- All shirts should always plant-dried
Some simple washing tips
- Always look at and follow the symbols in the washing instructions on each garment before washing it.
- Wash at the right temperature. Washing at too high a temperature can cause the garment to shrink.
- Dry your clothes properly.
- Iron according to washing instructions. If the iron is too hot, the garment may be ruined and if it is ironed at too low a heat, it may not be smooth.
- Use the right amount of detergent, check the detergent package. Use colour detergent for coloured garments and white detergent for white garments.
- Wash white laundry separately and coloured laundry separately. Sort laundry by similar colours.
- Use environmentally friendly detergent and wash several garments at a time. It's good for both the environment and your clothes.
- For severe stains, it may be a good idea to use some form of stain remover before washing.
